In this special recipe we have used leaves,stem and roots of beets along with some husked split green gram.This is a very healthy and nutritious recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 small Onion chopped
  • 1 Beetroot grated
  • Beetroot stems chopped
  • Beetrrot leaves chopped
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 3 Green chillies chopped
  • 1/4 cup Moong dal (husked split green gram) soaked
  • 1 tsp Seasame seeds powder optional
  • Oil as required

Instructions
 

  • Remove the upper skin of beetroot using peeler and grate the beetroot.
  • Soak split moong daal for around 30 minutes. Chop some onions if you would like to use onions but it really adds taste to the curry.
  • Chop green chillies.
  • Heat oil in a pan add musturd seeds, cumin seeds, green chillies, onions, salt, hing cook it till it is light brown.
  • Add turmeric powder, split moong dal,beetroot stems chopped,cook covered for 5 minutes.
  • Add grated beetroot and chopped beet leaves and cook it for about 10 minutes coved.
  • Fry till moong daal is cooked properly add water(if required) .
  • Add cumin powder, coriander powder, sesame seeds powder, garam masala and fry till all the moisture is gone.
  • At last add coriander leaves and cook it for 2 minutes.
